Before Sunset
Last weekend we bought several DVDs. Originally I just wanted to see if there's "Closer" on DVD, and the answer was no. At last we picked 10 DVDs while 90% of them are romantic comedy, except "Master and Commander," which was of course picked by Ye. The biggest surprise was finding "Before Sunset" by chance! At first I didn't realize it's the sequel of "Before Sunrise" until Ye asked me about that. So surprised!! Really surprised!! And of course I watched it right away. Love it definitely, and I think it's even greater than "Before Sunrise." It answered the biggest questions which I think everyone wanted to ask after watching "Before Sunrise" while it also left even more questions to the viewer.

December
Ah, it's already December. Last week, many shops already began putting christmas decoration. But now I feel it so strange: why the hell do you celebrate Christmas?? I think I have this kind of feeling after coming back from Finland, where Christmas is really a big matter there, even in their language December is called "joulukuu" which means "the month of Christmas." One month before Christmas, there are already many pre-celebration or religious activities. And everyone is preparing for its coming, like buying gifts, foods, decorating their home, and the most important is going back home for reunion. I think it's really like the Chinese New Year, and it has its own cultural background. But here in Asia, what the hell do you also celebrate it?! Last Thursday my classmates asked me how would I celebrate "Thanksgiving?" I just felt more ridiculous. Sorry, did I mention that I'm kind of cynic now? :P

Behind the Great Firewall
Ah, how long have I not update my blog?? I've never imagined that I could get rid of internet addiction, but the Great Firewall of China helped me to do it! Amazing!

But I depend on internet a lot. When I want to look for some information, I'll think of logging on to internet, and then condemn the damn blockage. Like Google, the "cache page" is forbidden, while I'm used to it to find info more quickly. Once I heard a local student said, "the firewall is like a window screen that the mosquito will not get in but the fresh air." Faint! What can I say? It's just one small part. There are lots of many other limits... and make me really feel suffocated. "It's China. You've to get used to it." Alas!! Sometimes it really pisses me off and turns me into cynical.

wordsworth's garden
for oft when on my couch I lie
in vacant or in pensive mood,
they flash upon that inward eye
which is the bliss of solitude;
and then my heart with pleasure fills,
and dances with the daffodils.
